Welding Procedure Qualification Record (WPQR)

BS EN ISO 15614 Series & ASME IX

The most important part of a WPQR is to ensure your company gets best range for the money you have to pay for the test.

Do you seek advice when arranging a new welding test?

If the answer is no, then you need to talk to Welding Engineering Consultancy

Many companies don't seek advice when they need a new WPQR they may just get the size or joint they need for the contract. With some advice your company can still achieve the contract requirements, but you could increase the range for future opportunities and save money over time, consequently you will not need to have so many WPQR's tests.

If you want to discuss any aspects of WPQR's or you want more information about setting the best range, please contact WEC using the Contact page

Welding documentation

These are sometimes known as PQRs, WPQRs or codes produced in accordance with BS EN ISO 15614 (1 to 14), ASME IX or other codes. These are the tests of the base or parent metal NOT the welder. WEC have been involved with in excess of 50 WPQRs covering different materials, processes and specifications (including Nuclear standards).

Client Specification

If you need to produce a WPQR in accordance with a code or standard PLUS a client specification WEC can provide advice for this as the requirement of the specification may be to have restrictions on top of the code. This could be very costly if you get it wrong.

Some clients need their (W) PQR's reviewed for their client, WEC can provide this service please us the contact page for more information
